Interstitial cystitis, painful bladder syndrome, irritable bladder, bladder urgency - a parasite!
After suffering on and off for 1.5 years with lower abdominal pain and urinary urgency I finally found what my problem was. I kick myself for not treating it earlier - it was a parasite infection.
It all started with an infection after sex with my partner. I thought it was a UTI. I went to the doctor, the urine culture came back negative. I returned for a second test because the pain in the bladder region and urinary urgency did not go away. I was drinking copious amounts of cranberry juice and I suffered for weeks with pain and discomfort and no relief. The second urine test came back negative too despite the urine smelling foul. I was certain there was an infection, but no infection present according to the lab - and the pain in the bladder when laying down and standing, was just awful. I didn’t get much sleep at all - maybe 2 hours a night at best.
It was then I concluded it must be fungal. I tried a few rounds of diflucan, and this seemed to help some… but then the symptoms returned. Some weeks later, I convinved a doctor to give me flagyl to treat trichomanosis. I assumed that trichomanosis had returned after many years because I had read that it can spontaneously reoccur after years of infection. Flagyl appeared to improve the situation somewhat, but then the discomfort returned as per usual. Many sleepless nights… no relief.
I was getting desperate - the thought of “living like this” was impossible. I discussed this with my female colleagues at work who suggested perhaps uterine fibroids were growing and pushing on my bladder…
Eventually I visited the doctor again who examined by abdomen and suggested fibroids too as a possible explanation. The doctor suggested maybe I might have an “overactive bladder” and “sensitive nerves” in the bladder. She didn’t prescribe anything.
I came home feeling lost, and began to research interstitial cystitis, painful bladder syndrome, irritable bladder, urinary urgency etc etc, and I was amazed at the amount of information on the net about this and how to “live with it” using diet modification. All the big medical institutions and self help websites suggest diet modification. I convinced myself this is what I had - and this was how I should treat it. No cure, only diet changes to provide relief from “flares". Tried the diet for a little while - nothing helped ongoing, no special cystisis diets, no amount of avoiding “forbidden foods” cured me - cutting them out only seemed to avoid exaccerbating the already pre-existing pain.
Then I came across Dr Hulda Clark’s entry on Interstitial cystitis. I should have done this much earlier. She described it as a parasite issue, not bacterial, not fungus, but a PARASITE… and the eggs were causing the most irritability to the bladder wall. Bingo.
Treatment involved zapping on high frequency and a herbal parasite cleanse as per the usual protocol: daily black walnut hulls, cloves to kill eggs, and wormwood - with digestive enzymes to mop up.
All is good now - but I will post again to be sure in the coming weeks. I’m looking forward to sleeping again without having to get up several times to relieve my bladder. I hope this entry helps someone out there.
I hope what you're doing will help and keep us posted!
Thanks for your message. Its unbelievable that painful bladder is something that doctors expect you to live with and explain away with saying "your nerves are sensitive". From what I can tell, urologists are supporting the idea that this is a "progressive disease" which can be only managed by diet, but not cured. It is entirely false I believe now that I have done an aggressive parasite cleanse. Sadly my partner is hard to convince when it comes to doing cleanses; also Hulda Clark's work says you can pick up these types of parasites on toilet seats and be easily reinfected. I really hope this post helps someone out there because too many people are suffering with this and according to Hulda, if not treated will lead to bladder cancer.
I continue to enjoy a huge reduction in symptoms - if not a total cure. I added Neem and Colloidal Silver to my routine to be sure to rid myself of viruses and bacteria which parasites leave in the bladder. Interestingly I did a UTI home kit urine test 2 days ago and it came back showing inflammation in the bladder - unlike my doctor's office tests which showed nothing. I think what happens is, in early infection (the time at which i visited the doctor and felt acute symptoms) nothing showed up. Months later... the bladder is infamed and it took this long to show up - despite now feeling great relief. It will be interesting to see how long before i get a cleaner 'swab' - and I will report on this asap.
After I completed an aggressive 3 week parasite routine, my painful symptoms were gone, and they are still gone several weeks later after writing this - all that remains is some tenderness in the bladder from time to time - but the pain is gone. It feels nothing short of a miracle.. and yet it was so simple to get rid of if you do a strong parasite detox. I can't begin to imagine how many people are suffering - and told to "live with it" by people they trust to give them good advice.
The herb routine I used was approximately like this: black walnut hulls tincture daily x 3 table spoons, wormwood capsules x 3 x 3 times daily and chewing fresh cloves several times a day (very bitter!) as well as clove tincture of which I had some (from the asian/indian supermarket). I also used neem leaf which can also be sourced from asian indian supermarkets and is a good anti parasitic - and use colloidal silver as well as the enzymes (good call by your nutritionist).
I am taking a little zinc, beta carotene, and colostrum to try and rebuild the bladder too. Also be very careful not to pick this problem up again, either through unprotected sex... or dirty toilet seats which apprarantly is quite easy to do (eggs live on seats and can penetrate skin according to Hulda Clark).
Best of luck and thanks so much for writing.
I can't confirm the exact amounts I took that time as its been a long time now but I still use these herbs on and off as my battled continues with parasites.
Wormwood, black walnut hulls and cloves in a prepared blend will help you fight IC and even cure it as it did for me. I hope that forumula works for you. Most people suffering and working in this field are aware of the work of Hulda Clark who came up with the 3 main ingredients - the wormwood stuns the parasite, the hulls kill the parasite and the cloves kill the eggsl. Best of luck x
Paige - How long did it take before your symptoms started diminishing?
Just wanted to thank you for posting about this! You are one of very few talking about the parasite/IC connection. I have done much IC research but never heard about parasites as a cause, but after praying and seeking God's wisdom, something told me to google parasites and IC today. I'm glad I found your post!! Thank you!!
Also what were all your symptoms? And are you still cured?
Much love IC sister
