I've NOT Had A Great Week At ALL
Well, I haven’t had a great week symptoms-wise, at all. Although I’ve been dealing with the awful mucus from day 1 since being ill, on flare-ups the mucus gets more thick and more slimy and there’s more of it. I knew a FLARE-UP was just around the corner.
At the beginning of the week I felt not too bad. As the week wore on, I began to notice the mucus getting slightly worse, more thick and slimy and the awful headache soon followed. Within the mucus there were traces of the white blobby stuff I always talk about. (Which I’m sure are parasite eggs ). My tongue also began to get coated and I could smell the awful foul smell which it seems to produce. It wasn’t too bad, I’ve experienced worse, but it was still horrible. I tend to notice the smell more on flare-ups. Thank goodness it’s not there all the time, I don’t know how I’d cope with it. It can be pretty awful.
As I’ve said, a headache followed. It’s actually worse than a headache. My head feels sore inside, sometimes I have to wince in order to stand the pain. The pain can be like short stabs , it’s a very strange sensation. I almost have to squint my eyes and slightly tilt my head in order to tolerate it. I’ve actually experienced worse than this. When I say worse, I mean at times I have felt confused and disorientated and even felt unsteady on my feet. Before I fell ill, I was never one to suffer headaches in my life, never.
The congestion up my nose was worse too, the mucus is similar to the mucus I spit up. I also noticed the white stringy things up my nose too. My nose was VERY itchy too. I also get a foul smell, similar to what I describe above. The itchiness was driving me mad. I’m sure I managed to pluck out a worm, I’m certain of it. It was quite small, white in colour and very rubbery in texture. I’ve passed many of these before and I’m absolutely certain they are some sort of worm. The itchy sensation I feel deep in my sinuses I’m sure are these tiny worms wriggling about.
My tummy was very rumbly and fluttery too. I could feel the larger worms moving around, it’s quite a weird sensation and I hate it.
I had chest symptoms too. My cough had returned and I was wheezing too. The sputum I’m sure comes from my lungs. I get it every time I have a flare-up. I say I’ve never had a day without mucus - YES, but on flare-ups the mucus is filled with the white blobby stuff which I’m sure is the cycle beginning where the eggs are being spat up. I’m of the assumption that because I’m fighting infection that this is why I’m producing so much mucus. I’m sure there is inflammation going on too because of these infections. I’m sure I have read that the body can produce excess mucus when fighting infection and this is what I believe is going on with me. It’s either that or the worms are producing it. I also had pain too, in the chest area. I could also feel wriggling sensations in my chest too. I’ve experienced it much worse than this but it was still very difficult to cope with.
I had abdominal pains too. My toilet habits weren’t great either. I had slight traces of blood in my stool and mucus too. I was finding it difficult to ‘go’.
My skin was itchy too. I could feel like a tiny burning, itchy sensation beneath the skin.
I noticed a couple of nights before my flare-up I was feeling very hot . I was experiencing night sweats . I’ve read that when the eggs are being released this can happen, the night sweats.
Thursday, Friday Saturday of last week were my worst days. As I’m writing this post, I’m so much better. What I have never been able to fully comprehend is the severity of the symptoms and how quickly a flare-up comes on. It can be very sudden.
I’m doing much better these last couple of days and I’m enjoying a bit of respite.
I wish we could the same thing to them, and I wonder what how they would "feel".
